Dedicated to Teaching Individuals to Swim Confidently

About us

SwimKids of Madison began when two Madison moms, Karla Scrivner and Kerby Smith, had an idea to combine their knowledge, experience, and love for swimming.

Every day, about ten people die from unintentional drowning. Of these, two are children aged 14 or younger. Drowning ranks fifth among the leading causes of unintentional injury death in the United States.

We both felt the need in the Madison area to teach children to swim safely so they can save themselves if they were to ever fall into the pool. No parent should ever have to experience what it feels like to lose a child to drowning. What should be a fun and enjoyable thing such as a pool, can turn into a horrible nightmare in a second if children are not taught safety from an early age. We strive to make sure every child leaves their class at the end of the week able to save themselves if they were to ever fall in when no one is watching. We are passionate about our work and hope each child leaves feeling happy and confident!
